The primary objective of this submission is to raise awareness about the issues faced by persons with disabilities, in Barbados. Many of the rights that are enjoyed by the people of Barbados are routinely denied to persons with disabilities. The opinion below is based on my research, informal discussions with persons with disabilities and their families, my time as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology and my own firsthand experiences since I am dyslexic.
